Two evening events bracketed the three days in Passau, with coffee breaks, lunches and a poster session in between — and quiet breakout space whenever a hallway chat wanted to become a proper conversation.

A relaxed first evening opened the conference — welcome drinks, Bavarian bites, and the easiest chance of the week to put faces to the names everyone had been emailing.

Conference Dinner on the Danube
A four-hour cruise on the Barefoot Boat by Til Schweiger: dinner, drinks, and the Passau old town sliding past the windows as the Danube, the Inn, and the Ilz meet at the city's edge. A relaxed, laid-back evening with a hearty Bavarian buffet — and plenty of room for the conversations the day had started.

Live on board
Folk music from the Bavarian–Austrian borderlands
The evening is accompanied by live regional folk music, drawing on the dance traditions of Lower Bavaria and Upper Austria, performed by musicians rooted in the Viennese folk and dance community.
Expect warm hospitality, good food, and music that feels very much at home in Passau.
Performed by the Wiener Miniorchester — Anna Breger on nyckelharpa and violin, Johannes G. Schwarz on accordion.
The Conference Dinner was a separately ticketed add-on — a four-hour evening on the Danube with the whole community aboard.
Between sessions
Networking, breaks, and room to talk
The hallway track carried as much of the conference as the sessions did. Coffee breaks sat between every block, lunches brought everyone together on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the poster session on Tuesday afternoon made time for unhurried one-on-ones.
