Society, Science and Script: Transkribus Across Three University of Malta Projects

From 19th-century sociopolitical notebooks to botanical records to the first public HTR model for the Maltese language, the University of Malta Library is deploying Transkribus across three distinct archival projects. Each presents different challenges and opportunities — together they map out a scalable, heritage-driven digitisation strategy for a small island nation with a complex written record.
