Peering through the mountain of politico-legal advice: ATR and NER and the knowledge hub of the French bureaux des Affaires Étrangères

TREATYLAB is decoding the 'Labyrinth of treaties' in early Enlightenment Europe — digitising 112,000 folios of diplomatic advisory documents from the French Foreign Affairs archives using Transkribus, then enriching them with Named Entity Recognition linked to VIAF and WikiData. This lightning talk presents the first results of this ERC-funded project, opening a new digital gateway to the foundations of modern European diplomacy.
