Collaborative Ground Truth Curation for Low-Resource Medieval Greek HTR

Two 14th-century Medieval Greek manuscripts — one achieving 4.99% CER, one still resisting at 27.13% — tell a story about the real limits and possibilities of specialised HTR. Central to this project is the collaboration between a data scientist and a Medieval Greek specialist, demonstrating that the best ground truth comes not from automation alone, but from combining computational precision with deep palaeographic expertise.
