Erika Hellsing Rydergaard is a research assistant at the Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Gothenburg. Her 2025 M.A. thesis is titled "Historical Slavistics with the Support of Machine Learning – Automated Handwriting Recognition of East Slavic Church Slavonic from the 15th Century". Her research interests include computer-assisted historical Slavic linguistics, Cyrillic paleography of the early modern period, and the textual history of Orthodox Christian Liturgy.
