Erika Hellsing Rydergaard is a research assistant at the Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Gothenburg. Her 2025 M.A. thesis is titled ”Historisk slavistik med stöd av maskininlärning - Automatiserad handskriftsigenkänning av östslavisk kyrkoslaviska från 1400-talet” Historical Slavistics with the Support of Machine Learning – Automated Handwriting Recognition of East Slavic Church Slavonic from the 15th Century. Her research interests include computer-assisted historical Slavic linguistics, Cyrillic paleography and orthography of the early modern period, and the textual history of Orthodox Christian Liturgy.
