Transcription guidelines for HTR-projects at cultural heritage institutions

When HTR work for historical Swedish is coordinated centrally across the Finnish and Swedish National Archives, the conditions for consistent transcription guidelines are better than almost anywhere else — and it's still hard. This roundtable gathers scholars and data scientists from both institutions to discuss the real complexities of drafting and implementing unified guidelines: how to maximise applicability across time periods, how to balance granularity with usability, how to handle abbreviations and multilingual archives, and whether a single model can ever serve all contexts.
