SCOOP (Source Codes of the Past): Building a Collaborative Future for HTR

SCOOP — Source Codes of the Past — is an international initiative connecting HTR developers and historians across tools and institutions. Launched in Princeton in June 2025 and reconvening in Vienna in September 2026, this talk reports on the progress of its working groups (from handwriting classification to NLP), and invites the Transkribus community to get involved in shaping the collaborative future of HTR research.
