Towards a Universal Schema: Methodological Guidelines for Structural Segmentation
Every project annotates its layouts differently — and that fragmentation makes large-scale comparison nearly impossible. This presentation proposes a 'universal' segmentation schema, developed in collaboration with READ-COOP, offering a taxonomy of structural tags and clear principles for handling edge cases. It's a practical bid for shared standards that could transform how the HTR community works with diverse historical sources.
