From Handwriting to Drama Analysis: A Workflow for Exploring Robert Schumann's Unpublished Dramatic Fragments
Robert Schumann is celebrated as a composer — but what about his teenage literary ambitions? Newly digitised dramatic fragments from the 1820s, transcribed with Transkribus and encoded in TEI, are being integrated into DraCor, the European drama research infrastructure. Even from just two or three pages, it becomes possible to reconstruct plot structures and character networks, opening a new dimension of Schumann's creative biography.
