Transcription of manuscripts in Early Modern German (~1663–1806)

For nearly 150 years, the Perpetual Diet in Regensburg was the nerve centre of the Holy Roman Empire — yet its 5,000+ microfiches of records in Early Modern German remain almost entirely undigitized. This project is transcribing them in Transkribus, combining linguistic analysis of sentence structure with two doctoral theses on graphematics and multilingualism, to open a unique window into imperial political culture.
