I am currently finishing my PhD on Schawrirajen (1756–1817), a local Indian co-worker of the Tranquebarmission in southern India who wrote countless diaries in the German. My research focuses mainly on the history of education and knowledge during the early Company Raj in India and Sri Lanka around 1800, with a particular focus on deconstructing the British narrative of education.
